In Germany this Gelbwurst is known as a "diet bologna" for its low fat and salt content. Originating in the Black Forest and Bavarian regions of Germany, Gelbwurst is made from veal and pork, mildly spiced with nutmeg, white pepper and ginger. Contains no nitrites, preservatives, monosodium glutamate, artificial coloring or fillers. A very, very popular cold cut with our local German customers. According to them, this one tastes exactly like the Gelbwurst they got from their German butcher!

This popular, cured meat spread is prized for its smoky flavor and spreadable consistency. According to Chef Lothar of Restaurant Lachswehr in Germany, which is famous for it's wursts, including teewurst or teawurst, the name Teewurst comes from the time of day it was usually eaten, "Teatime." It is a spread that has a lot in common with Mettwurst, a German variation of Salami, but just made finer as a spread.

This ready-to-spread treat is perfect served open-faced on hearty German bread. For a great appetizer spread it on pumpernickle rounds or on whole wheat bread, cut into bite-sized shapes.
This product is also available in a coarse texture. Each is made with pork and beef.

Made with veal and veal liver, it is so perfect on hearty German bread or crispy rolls, or serve this treat paté-style in a beautiful bowl with crackers on the side. A Note from our chef:
These Wieners have a casing which is considerably firmer than most hot dogs. This gives them a distinctive firm and somewhat chewy texture. These Wieners may not be the best choice for those looking for a more tender Wiener.

Note: This Sausage is frozen immediately upon delivery to our warehouse. When ordered, we ship the frozen sausages (wrapped in a special ice packing). If your sausages arrive partially frozen - you may place them in your freezer if you wish to keep them frozen. If they arrive defrosted, but still cold, DO NOT REFREEZE the sausages. Keep them in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, no more, or cook them and freeze the cooked sausages for later use.
